Catch – Trendy Seafood Spot @ the Fairmont

There is no catch with this one. Great food, above average service. It is on the pricier side, but totally justified given the scrumptious starters, mains and dessert. Located just outside the Fairmont, Catch has a somewhat lively ambiance despite the dim lighting. It makes for a great spot for a (birthday) dinner with friends, or a date night.

What we ordered
Hot starters: Wagyu on the rock, King fish tacos
Mains: Spicy king crab pasta
Grills: Salmon, Jumbo prawns, Flat iron steak
Sides: Lobster mashed potato, Mac and Cheese, Parmesan truffle fries, Grilled asparagus
Dessert: Hit Me cake

The spicy king crab pasta was a clear winner – the best I have ever had. Left me wanting more, although the server cleaned up before I could use my fingers to lick the sauce off the plate. The lobster mashed potato was also off the scale. Wagyu on the rock were bite sized pieces of Wagyu slices, so be sure to order several. The server was concerned we had ordered ‘too much’ food, which I don’t always like hearing… To his surprise, we finished everything on the table. We ended our evening with the ‘Hit Me’ dessert – a brownie cake layered with white chocolate ice cream. Yummy and rich. Very rich.

PS: This post is slightly tougher to write than some of my other ones. Just thinking about the food makes me want to go back!
