I had some extra time for lunch today, and decided to drive down to Jones the Grocer -Khalifa City, located in Raha Gardens Plaza*. This branch is smaller than any other Jones I’ve been to, and seems to keep busy. Although we were seated and served almost instantly, it did feel that they may be slightly understaffed for the number of people.
I ordered the Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Truffle Parmesan fries. I was impressed with the presentation of my salmon, although I won’t lie – I was expecting a larger chunk of salmon on my plate for the price I paid. I thoroughly enjoyed the crispy salmon skin, which isn’t something everyone always likes. The salmon fillet was cooked medium-well just as I had requested, and was served with baba ganoush and salad. The truffle fries were crisp and fresh, although a little cheesier wouldn’t have done any harm :).
Jones is a convenient lunch spot for those who work nearby, in the Etihad Engineering offices or in Masdar City. Their food and service wasn’t spectacular, but it’s always great to have more lunch options near work.
*Not to be confused with Jones the Grocer- Al Muneera!
