Looks like Maroosh has changed things up since my last visit, with a more visually appealing menu card, a more civilized chaos in the kitchen and most importantly, better customer service.
This is a fast takeaway/delivery spot at the One Stop Center in Khalifa City. Evenings get busy in the area, so you have to maneuver your way between other cars to find a parking spot.
We stopped by quickly last night to get a couple shawarmas and a shish tawook sandwich. While we were waiting, we were offered free falafel (yum), and in general the staff seemed aware and concerned about us getting our order on time, which I have never experienced on my previous visits.
I got a beef shawarma and a chicken shawarma, both of which were decent, but not the best I’ve had. On days that I feel a little fancy, I go to Maroosh for a quick order of lamb chops – juicy and flavorful. The lamb chops feel expensive, but they do come with hummus, thom (garlic sauce) and pita, so they make for a great meal. Their chicken liver is a great add-on to have with some pita, although a little sour, but still very tasty.
Decent Lebanese takeout spot with the usual Middle Eastern delicacies.
